You’ll Never Be Able To Figure Out This Best Robot Vacuum That Mops’s Secrets
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His main focus is mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers can be a great option for those looking to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. They have impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It’s smaller than the other options which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance that I’ve ever seen in a robot vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through cleaning.
It’s extremely efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single pass. The motor’s 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt as well as pet hair and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes into contact with rugs, and the two side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn’t as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and utilizes 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I’ve noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I’ve ever tried. It doesn’t produce the same volume of sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum for mopping purposes it is important to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a variety of features.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home and find furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and efficiently. This ensures a thorough and consistent clean and is also rapid.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo’s DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching a wide range of surfaces. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other difficult-to-access spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to remove odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
It’s expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It’s crucial to note that it incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and offers a wide array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an power button that doubles as the ‘Clean button’ and a ‘Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you’re a busy professional or someone who just wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a excellent option. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It can do both mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two parts that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes an elastomer pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping might seem a bit outdated but they’re a good thing because you don’t have to think about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.
Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create ‘No-Go Zones’ and virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting pet hair. It was able to collect many of the hair that shed by our cats, and even made it into the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots have struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some lovely jingles that inform you that it was beginning and finishing its work.
The biggest flaws were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to swap between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app cannot keep multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, however it comes with some distinctive features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni’s biggest draw is its enormous dock which doubles as the robot’s charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.
The base has a few control buttons that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or use the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle the child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognising objects.
This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets entangled in a blockage like a power cable draped over a rug. It won’t work until you remove it manually. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn’t have a “stuck status” alert on its app.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You’ll have to manually switch between the two, which isn’t a big deal aside from the fact that mopping pads aren’t cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern base and mopping pad. It’s a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It’s also an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxy models.
